Dr. Clinton Kaiser
Dr. Kaiser was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Although horses were not a big part of his upbringing, veterinary medicine was his calling from a young age. After many years of schooling and some fun along the way, he decided to concentrate on equine veterinary medicine almost immediately upon his arrival to Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 2003. After a one-year equine internship at Las Colinas Veterinary Hospital in Texas, Dr. Kaiser joined Sarasota Equine Associates. It wasn’t long before he fell in love with the area and the many wonderful patients and clients that he was meeting every day. Shortly thereafter Dr. Kaiser and his wife, Jeannie began a family and the rest is history.
Dr. Kaiser enjoys general equine medicine and dentistry, has recently completed a course in equine acupuncture, and is excited to add it to the many services provided at Sarasota Equine Veterinary Services. Dr. Kaiser along with Dr. Pablo Toro purchased the practice in October of 2019.

Dr. Margaux Buchanan
Dr. Buchanan was born and raised in Connecticut and New York. Since she was a child, she has been involved with horses, locally riding pony club hunter/jumpers and attending YMCA ranch camp in the summer. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Smith College in 2007. Dr. Buchanan received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In 2012 she completed a year-long internship at East Coast Equine and Animal Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL. During her internship in Vero Beach, Dr. Buchanan rode a polo pony named Tequila – and a passion for the sport of polo was born that follows her to this day. From there, Dr. Buchanan spent three years in the Central Valley of California working on and riding a variety of ranch and western performance horses. Dr. Buchanan then returned to New England, spending five years in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts treating a variety of pleasure and sport horse disciplines. Due to the breadth of her experience, she has a deep appreciation for all aspects of many discipline’s unique equine veterinary care, from foal care to english and western performance horse care to geriatric (retired sport horse) patients.
Dr. Buchanan joined Sarasota Equine Associates in 2020, and in her free time, she plays polo at the Sarasota and Ocala Polo clubs. Dr. Buchan has a special interest in sport horse performance medicine, geriatric preventive medicine & general wellness care with an emphasis on internal medicine. In 2023 she attended Chi University in Reddick FL, and became a certified equine rehabilitation and performance medicine practitioner, and now performs “pre-hab” exams to help keep your horse from needing her sport horse injury rehabilitation services. She is continuing her interest in preventative performance medicine in 2024 by getting her acupuncture certification. In 2025 she will begin her veterinary medical manipulation education to provide holistic, whole-horse care for all horses.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Buchanan enjoys the local beaches, international travel, bourbon with a good meal, and a great polo match.
